The Censuses for Hampstead Norreys
 

The village census records are a set of information being made available as part of our village history project. All census records from 1841 to 1911 will be published overtime. The information gathered during the first census in 1841 was fairly basic, name, street, age, employment and where born.

However from 1851 onwards, as well as the details of those living in the household additional information, such as the person's relationship to the head of the household, marital status and whether there were any disabilities, were added.

Censuses are published every 10 years after a delay of 100 years from their compilation.So far the 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891, 1901 and 1911 censuses have been relaesed into the public domain. The next one due for publication is the 1921 census.
