Welcome to the
History of Hampstead Norreys
There has been a settlement for more than 2,000 years in the wooded valley on the
upper reaches of the river Pang that is now Hampstead Norreys and throughout its long history there have been many
changes.
Centuries ago it would have been a predominantly agricultural which provided
sustainability for the rural community but with the coming of the railway and better communication and access
movement the village to grew and prospered.
Many projects have been undertaken which have given an insight into
Hampstead Norreys of yesteryear.
If you wish to know more please select the relevant project on the left hand
menu.
